Herbert L. Fisher

“I like to feel I help the next generation have a better community.” — Herbert L. Fisher

About Herbert L. Fisher

In addition to his work for the Canton, Ohio Park Commission, Herbert Fisher has served in many capacities in several other civic and community organizations. He volunteered his time for over 32 years on the Stark County District Library Commission, serving five of those years as President.   He was also active in the United Way of Central Stark County for over 20 years, where he served as a chairman of the United Way Fundraising Campaign. He and his wife Janet C. Fisher were the only husband and wife to both receive the United Way’s Gold Key award. Mr. Fisher has also been involved in the NAACP, the Jewish Community Federation, and the United Food and Commercial Workers — Employers Pension Fund.

Mr. Fisher visits the Herbert L. Fisher Walking Track often, and continues to feel honored by its naming. He hopes all will enjoy the track and “use it in good health” for many years to come.
